For: Saxophone Quartet

Dedicated to the Delta Saxophone Quartet: Martin, Pete, Tim and Chris.

This piece expands my language to incorporate quarter tone inflections of melodic lines. The title refers to the feeling of nervous excitement, possibly fear felt when standing at the edge of a new venture and to the state of unreality experienced in certain dreams. Music On The Edge is also the title of, baritone player in the DSQ, Chris Caldwell's website. The title gave me the idea for the piece.
On The Edge has been recorded by the DSQ and will be released on the FRM label in late 2009.
