This piece was written for Jane Manning on the occasion of her 70th birthday and is dedicated to her. It is a setting of one of the Pierrot Lunaire verses by Belgian poet Andre Giraud, in an English translation. Jane is reknowned for her interpretation and highly acclaimed performances of Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire and it was my privilege to work with her while she researched this work as part of an AHRC Fellowship at Kingston University.
